Future Business Leaders of America September Wrap Up
Lake Regions Future Business Leaders if America (FBLA) has started off strong again this year with eighteen members. Two of these members are part of Vermont’s 2022-2023 State Officer Team. McKenna Blay is Vermont’s Northern Vice President and Emma Locke-McCallister is Vermont FBLA’s Historian for this year. We are currently working on electing the members for our local officer team.
Lake Region FBLA has already started with our annual Apple Project fundraiser. This year we plan to donate apple crisps to the community’s local Veterans, while others will be made for pre ordered sales. The sales are used to help raise money for the students in the chapter to go to the FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference in Denver, during the second week of November.
The Lake Region Future Business Leaders of America chapter went apple picking on September, 23rd at Burt’s Apple Orchard. The chapter negotiated a discount on ten bushels needed. This is to help the students go to leadership conferences and learn about the business world. Diligent FBLA members and their families and friends worked together on this project building bonds and work ready skills. The group plans to finish baking all of the goodies on September 30th, and October 1st. All to be delivered between the dates of October 1st-3rd.
Lake Region FBLA has also been working on the National FBLA Champion Chapter Summer Starter competition. A competition where chapters from across FBLA compete. We earned the silver level in 2021-2022 and are going for gold in 2022-2023. It focuses on what chapters can do to start the year strong building membership and preparing to compete for Vermont at the National level.
This wraps up Lake Region FBLA’s start of the school year. We are thankful to the community for all the support we receive.
