The mullet is a hairstyle rooted in functionality while still having the ability to show off one’s hair texture and personal style. In sports such as wrestling, baseball, and hockey the style works well with the switching of hat to helmet in baseball because there isn’t long hair in the front that needs to be pushed back and yet there still is the length flowing out the back, which looks really cool. In hockey it works in a similar way because putting on a hockey helmet is difficult with long hair. In wrestling the headgear that is used to protect competitors from getting the condition of cauliflower ear and having shaved sides makes it easier to wear the headgear without it falling off. Mullets are also extremely good looking in my opinion. Although the mullet was for many years seen as a joke and a style that would “wreck” your looks it has come back into fashion and is here to stay.
