Lake Region’s Indoor Track team competed in their final meet prior to the state championships and had another excellent showing.

Justin Young high jumped 1.85m (6’1″), setting a new personal record to take second place!  His attempts at 6’3″, which would tie the state record, were all very near misses.

In the 55m dash, many of our athletes set new personal records.  Bella Hanover ran a time of 7.88 seconds, dipping under 8 for the first time this season and taking 4th place overall.  Adler Lahar ran a time of 7.42 seconds, followed closely by Jeremiah Badertscher at 7.45 seconds. Jericho Wilson was hot on their heels with a time of 7.51 seconds, followed closely by Dyion Lacourse at 7.60 seconds and Tristan Morely at 7.62 seconds.

In the 300m dash, Bella Hanover beat her best time by 1.5 seconds, running 51.46.  Tristan Morely set a new personal record at 41.06 seconds, taking 7th place overall.  He was followed very closely by Jeremiah Badertscher at 41.22 seconds, who took 9th place overall.

The girls 4x200m team of Heather Alexander, Brooklyn Hinton, Indie Haney, and Bella Hanover once again crushed the competition in their heat and set a new personal record of 2:05.74 to take 5th place overall.  The boys team of Tristan Morely, Ethan Gratton-Derbyshire, Jeremiah Badertscher and Adler Lahar ran an extremely tight race against Thetford, finally beating them out at the very end.  They also set a new personal record of 1.45.04 and took 2nd place overall.

In the 1000m, Charlie Edlund ran a new personal record of 3:53.40 to take 10th place overall.  She also set a personal record in the 3000m with a time of 13:41.99 to take 9th place.

In the 1500m Oscar Forsay set a new personal record of 5:12.86 to take 10th place.

In the shot, Brooklyn Hinton took 4th place with a throw of 8.04m, with Heather Alexander close behind in 5th place with a throw of 7.96m.  In the same event, Logan Lee threw 6.33m to take 13th place and Julia Gardner set a new personal record of 6.28m to take 14th place.

Finally, in long jump Bella Hanover took 3rd place with a jump of 4.21m.  Natalie Rowell, in her first jumps of the season after recovering from injury, jumped 3.12m.  On the boys side, Dyion Lacourse set a new personal record at 4.10m, and both Ben Bosquet and Eli Davis completed their first long jumps ever with marks of 3.45m and 3.26m respectively.

Overall, the girls team finished second in Division 2 out of 22 teams, scoring 45 points overall.  The boys team finished 7th in Division 2 out of 19 teams with 21.5 points.  The state championship meet takes place at the University of Vermont on Saturday, January 27th.
