Soul for Real is an Atlanta based R&B vocal group from the 90s who in their career created three albums in their career one of which being For Life…. This album has some variety between a soulful ballad Leavin’ about a heartbreaking breakup, to tracks like Stay, and Never Felt This Way, which have that classic upbeat and heavy bass 90s R&B feel. They also do a cover of an Al Green classic Let’s Stay Together but give it a heavy rhythm and beautiful vocal harmony. This album was produced by Sean “Puffy” Combs who is most known for his production on the album Ready to Die by the Notorious B.I.G. This album makes great use of the electric guitar with simple but effective motifs from the guitar that do a great job adding to the texture of the beat. If you are looking for an album full of great vocal performance, bass filled beats, beautiful vocal harmonies, or something to dance to in your room when you are supposed to be doing homework I definitely recommend checking this album out.
