Lake Region Attends Vermont FLC

This past Wednesday the 9th, Lake Region Union High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter traveled to Norwich University for their first conference of the season, the Vermont Future Leaders Conference (FLC). Members attended workshops on team-building, public speaking, and leadership, and enjoyed a guided tour of the campus, a keynote from Norwich’s Dean of Faculty Karen Gaines, and lunch at Norwich’s dining hall.

“Amazing food, amazing mission, amazing experiences,” said attendee freshman Maven Ragusa.

“The workshops were great; I liked seeing how confident people were up on stage!” said attendee junior Ruby Gardner.

“I love being part of the state officer team and organizing a leadership conference for members to help them grow and gain more skills,” said Lake Region’s chapter president and FBLA state historian, senior Maia Young.

FBLA is the largest business career student organization in the world, and is entirely student-led. Lake Region’s members from grades 9 to 12 make and sell homemade baked goods, and learn the process of the full marketing cycle of a successful small business through hands-on activities and experiences.
