The LR high school band and Chorus performed a midwinter concert on January 4th. It was held in the Newport United Church and featured soloists and ensemble pieces. The solisists (not in concert order) where Fiona Bock, who played the piece that she played at her Allstate music festival audition on violin, Isaac Smartt who played a Tchaikovsky flute solo, Max Demaine, who played a Hindemith horn sonata, Josiah Quinn who played All the Things You are on Tenor sax. There were also vocal solos done by Tucker Broe, and Lorelai Collins. These performers all had Dr. Doncaster accompanying them on the beautiful piano. There also was some seasonal music and several chorus numbers that sounded fantastic in that hall. Our LR musicians presented a beautiful concert on January 5th in Newport. The food donations have not yet been tallied up, but there will certainly be a great deal of food donated to NEKO because of our hard-working musicians and our supportive community. There were a lot of people in attendance! Great house.
