In 2028, NASA will be launching a lunar space station lining up with the launch of Artemis. Artemis, the mission to send astronauts to the moon, is NASA’s new mission. NASA’s HALO (Habitation and Logistics Outpost) construction and testing began in 2023. The purpose will be to conduct experiments and give astronauts a home in space. Multiple docking ports allow the addition of the space station. The space station will be partnered with the ESA (European Space Agency), with the ESA preparing environmental control and life support systems. The space station will include, but not be limited to, a power distribution hub, high-data communications, studies of solar and cosmic rays, and command and control of space stations. The space station will allow astronauts (and maybe Cosmonauts) to stay at the station for 30 days. Although due to the recent activities of DOGE budget cuts up to 50% could make the proposed space station impossible to fabricate.
