The Girls’ Varsity Soccer team played Hazen last Saturday and won 5-3. Lake Region’s offense scored four goals in the first half. Maeda Urie scored her first varsity goal, assisted by Mya Patenaude. Urie added another, assisted by Tilly Veysey. Avery Hansen then scored twice. Her first was assisted by Mya Patenaude, and the second by Isabella Hanover.
Hazen scored two first-half goals. The first, by Mya Lumsden, was assisted by Isabelle Gouin. The second was by Isabelle Gouin, assisted by Julia Des Groseilliers.
In the second half, LR’s Hansen completed her hat trick with a goal assisted by Hanover. Hazen scored their final goal when Isabelle Gouin found the net unassisted. Lake Region’s defense, with Bella Hanover, Addie Schneider, and Nell Urie, helped shut down Hazen’s offense, led by Isabelle Gouin. In net, freshman Cadence Hansen made 13 saves. Hazen’s goalie, Ella Renaud, finished with 17 saves. The next Girls’ Varsity game is Wednesday, marking the first home game on 8/3/25.
