October 18th marked the second time a massive wave of protests was organized by the No Kings. The No Kings protest was a nationwide event in the United States, which also had other nations joining in, such as the U.K. The protest is a way to protect the nation from authoritarian rule. Protesters were there for an array of reasons, whether the military, Israel, domestic policies, or a hatred towards Trump. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders spoke at the protest in D.C., slamming tech conglomerates and CEOs. Sanders singled out those like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, also stating, “and the other multibillionaires who were sitting right behind Trump when he was inaugurated.” The demonstration featured over 7 million people protesting and demonstrating a No Kings movement. The emergence of the massive demonstrations can be seen from the controversy surrounding Donald Trump. On scene in New York City, signs stated things as “Melt the Ice”, “Hands off Trump”, “Where are the Epstein Files”, and “Birds of a feather flock together (depicting Epstein and Trump). Donald Trump responded with an AI video of him in a jet dumping waste on citizens in Times Square. Comparatively, the protest in NYC was relatively peaceful. The King’s protest demonstrates the ability to protest and serves as a demonstration that US citizens want to maintain a constitutional democracy.
