The Lake Region Track and Field’s Excellent Showing at St J

The Lake Region Track and Field team had our first full team meet last Saturday April 29th at the St J Relays. Results were highlighted by several individual and relay team winners. Winning the boys pole vault was Charlie Thompson. Adler Lahar was 2nd in the boys javelin. Those guys teamed up with Jeremiah Badertscher and Gavyn Letzelter to win the boys 800m sprint medley relay. Tristan Blay was 2nd in triple jump, in his first try at the event. The final relay champions on the boys side were Lahar, Badertscher, Blay and Thomas Hinton in the 1600 Medley Relay.

On the other side the girls had great success in the field events, especially against D1 competition. Hannah Badertscher won the high jump, breaking her old personal record by more than 3 inches, Heather Alexander won javelin, Paige Currier won the shot put and Bella Hanover won the long jump. Bailey Danaher was 2nd in high jump, and Brooklyn Hinton was 2nd in discus. In the relay events, the girls 800m sprint medley relay won a close one with Emma Bergeron, Emma King, Ellen Wambui and Willa Robb.

Overall this show of speed and power by the LR Track and Field team was excellent with many individuals shining, made apparent by their performance. We hope this great demonstration continues throughout the season and congratulations to all the athletes.
