On November the 8th, the LR band and Chorus performed at the Orleans municipal building. This was the first ever modern band concert ever in the history of the LR music department. Part of what made this concert so special was the work LR alum Christopher Doncaster has put in as the modern band coach.
The performance included many rock and roll songs such as Somebody to Love, Chain of Fools, and Flesh Failures (Let the Sunshine in). The band and chorus rotated throughout the concert, rocking out, with a large number of people attending the concert in support of LR’s music department and the work that was done through many months of effort, perseverance, and hard work.
Toward the end of the concert however, the infamous Dr. Pepper Sue (whom no one including the band or chorus students knew about) made an appearance, singing a wonderful rendition of Crocodile Rock with her band, earning cheers from the crowd with her wonderful performance. The final song of the concert, Carry on my Wayward Son, had all the band and chorus students come together in order to perform the song, with voices and instruments all clamoring together at the end to produce a exuberant finale for the concert, leaving the crowd cheering and clapping.
