The Pulitzer Prize committee announced its annual awards on May 5th, and The Shallot the flagship news organization of Lake Region Union High School, and the power behind the throne of the supervisory union of OCSU has won. With accurate and high quality reporting on the moves that it takes as it gains more influence over the world, and more locally by increasing efficiency in OCSU, and on the social media platform it purchased from Byte Dance, a Chinese company, known as Tik Tok.
The prize was awarded for the high quality journalism that the Shallot has done in the past year. They specifically gave the prize for the breaking news reporting that was done by the Shallot on the Orleans Central Supervisory Union. They also gave an award for Public Service as The Shallot was able to create many organizations such as the GEEK Squad, BAGS Group, and BASICS Team, that are doing incredible service for their community even at such a young age. The way that The Shallot was able to lower tax dollars by finding things to eliminate that were useless such as DEI.
The Shallot plans to take its award and put it outside of its office at the COFEC building on an almost 7 foot tall pedestal. The actual award will be kept in the office, but the LR fabrication department will create a welded copy of the award that is 3 feet in a diameter with all of the detail of the original award. The style of the pedestal will be Ionic, and the fabrication costs will be made back once the pedestal is up as The Shallot will charge admission to view this amazing award.
