Saturday: The Best Day of Week

Out of the seven days of the week, Saturdays have my heart. If I was to marry a day, it would be a Saturday. Saturdays are generous and dependable. Saturdays allow me to regain the energy I lost from Monday to Friday. Why not Sunday? you may ask. Well, Monday comes right after Sunday. Sunday makes the weekend feel over before it’s over. Some may call it the Sunday Scaries. Saturday, however, is the perfect time away from Monday. It’s my reward for making it through the week.

When I was little, I didn’t care for Saturdays (unless my mom planned a weekend getaway). I didn’t get to see my friends at school and I didn’t know what to do with myself. Being an only child, Saturdays were not fun. Weekends felt dragged out.

I never appreciated Saturdays until school got more serious and I started to work more. Monday through Friday, I feel like I have no time to focus on myself. That being said, I use Saturdays to sleep in, clean my mess of a room from the long, chaotic week, and do whatever else needs to be done. I usually have a pile of clothes living on my floor and water bottles, papers and masks scattered everywhere that I’ll pick up. I may do some homework or I may binge-watch Netflix. It doesn’t matter because it’s Saturday. I recommend the series You, by the way.

Without Saturdays I would be running on 2% and be mad at the world. Without Saturdays I’d be overly stressed and tired. The way I spend Saturdays really does determine how the coming week is going to turn out. If my Saturday isn’t good, then my week won’t be good. In the end, I love my Saturdays.

I give Saturdays five stars
