Evan Gentler has taught English at Lake Region High School since 2018, and became a Co-Advisor to the LR Post in 2021. Evan was born and raised in Irasburg, Vermont, and attended Lake Region himself as a teenager. Evan attended Oberlin College as an undergraduate and then spent ten years in Boston, MA, where he earned graduate degrees in English and Education. In Boston, Evan spent several years teaching at a juvenile detention facility where he focused on arts integration and helping detained youth collaborate educationally with other young people outside the walls. Evan moved back to VT in 2012 when his daughter was born. Evan’s current LR classes include Composition, English 9, Graphic novels, AP English Language and Composition, and Horror & Apocalypse.
