With Disney’s new live-action remake of Snow White the movie has been bombing at the box office. The movie’s budget of 270 million(not including marketing) has only grossed 143 million in global sales. Some of the blame can be put on the actor of Snow White, Rachael Ziegler, for starting something that made the crowd discontent as adding “extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power.” Many movie fans are frustrated with Disney changing the original movie’s plot and modernizing it with new standards. Other decisions such as using CGI for the dwarves have many questioning. Most are outraged by the “modernization” of the story. The old story showed a weak female but at the same time its better to write to a modern standard. A better move for Disney would have been to not make the movie.
