National Honors Society Hosts Movie Night

National+Honors+Society+Hosts+Movie+Night

On March 15th, roughly 70 people came out to watch Disney’s Tangled, in an event hosted by National Honor’s Society. This event was both a fun community activity and a fundraiser for Journey to Recovery. Journey to Recovery is an incredible program that provides peer support to help people with addiction or who are impacted by addiction. This is the first year Journey to Recovery has had a presence at Lake Region, and National Honor’s Society chose this fundraiser to thank them for the help they are providing to our community.

Tangled seemed to resonate with students and community members of all ages, with both young families and many high school students in attendance. The National Honor’s Society sold popcorn and water, with a baked sale by donation only. Over all, they raised over $180 to give to Journey to Recovery.

The unexpectedly large turn out raises questions about the need in our community for budget-friendly and family-friendly fun activity options. What else can our school and clubs do to fill this need?
